It's been a while since we've done a missing cat-poster story. So here's one whose owners miss him very much. Arthur has gone missing. Please help find him.

I know people form close attachments to their pets but I am driven to distraction by cats crapping in my garden and were I not such a civilised individual would be tempted to round them all up and take them out to the wilds of Kent. Having said that I hope poor Arthur is returned safely . . .

Hope Arthur is home soon. Most cats do turn up sooner or later, but it's awful while they're gone, I know.
PS mine use a litter tray so my conscience is clear (so far as other people's gardens go, anyway...)
Have you checked with Ceiia Hammond? I saw a poster on a tree at Hilly Fields from the Celia Hammond Centre n Lewisham Way saying that they had found a cat.
Please check with them.

I will not give up till i find him! I saw the poster from Celia Hammond but it was for a Ginger & White cat...is this the same one? He is microchipped and I have contacted Celia hammond so hopefully he will be returned if anybody finds him......

I hope he turns up, but unfortunately in London a big cause of cat disappearances is being run over. This has happened to both my last cats, and I just can't go through the upset again.
I thought the poster on hilly fields was for a black and white cat. You might want to call Celia Hammond again, just in case, or pop in to the centre on Lewisham Way.
Have you put up any posters? I will definitely keep an eye out for Arthur. I have 2 cats and know how upset you must be.
A cat turned up in our garden last year who was very hungry and we fed him for a few days before taking him to John Hankinson to see if he was microchipped. Thankfully he was. He only lived 2 roads away and had been missing for 3 weeks.

All this talk of cats disappearing reminds me i need to get pet insurance sorted for my two cats! Anyone know any good places for it? Has anyone ever made any pet insurance claims?
I think PetPlan is best.
I use the RSA pet insurance, i think its 17 pound a month for the premium cover.
Try not to worry about your missing cat too much - My parents cat came back after 3 weeks missing.
closer to home, Ive lived on revelon road for 6 years now, one of my cats had gone missing twice - each time it was returned. Brockley is a fantastic neighbourhood - strong sense of community if anyone sees it im sure they will get in touch with you.

17 quid a month for cat insurance?! You could pick up a new moggie each month for that or pocket the saving if yours doesn't get turned into a pizza on Lewisham Way. Just a thought!
I've insured my 2 cats with Sainsbury's for the last 7 years. It started off about £8-9 per month (each), going up to about £14-15 last year (they are now 8 years old). I made a £750 claim recently for an operation (wholly successful, thank goodness), and on renewal a couple of months later, non-claim cat was £16/month, and claim cat was £24!! They will get the money back off you one way or another. On the plus side, they settled the claim immediately, cash was in my account in about 10 days (net of £75 excess).
Thanks Pip and Cat Man, both helpful. It's not enough to overcome my loathing of insurance companies however, so think i'll set aside some cash instead, just incase. P.S. Bengal cats are BEAUTIFUL!
Simon, I think that's a good idea. I reckon if you can be disciplined enough to put £10 per cat per month aside, you'll find you're fully self-insured, unless you get really unlucky.
I recommend John Hankinson vets on Shardeloes Rd, by the way, if you aren't using them already.
You could insure a car for that much!
The lamppost outside my house has gone missing. I have stuck some photos of it on several local cats.
@anon 14.43 the engineering in a cat is somewhat more complex than that of a car, and once you become attached to them, they are worth considerably more.
Hi Pip, totally agree with using John Hankinsons vets and although this is the first time I've had cats of my own I've found the vets I've seen to be wonderful and extremely friendly.

OMG Cat Man, your cat bit me when I stroked her once! I feel like I met a famous person.
Revelon Road is like cat paradise, I love walking down there. You can often end up with several cats trotting down the street after you. Makes you feel like the cock of the walk.
Anyway, RSPCA do very affordable pet insurance. It costs £9 a month.

Naughty Cat Man! They shouldn't be roaming free until they're spayed. Speaking as a cat lover, the last thing the world needs is more cats.

The ginger tom cat has been a regular visitor to our garden over the past 3 years. I've grown rather fond of him.

This morning I found the fresh remains of a blackbird by the woodland area at Hilly Fields.
Perhaps it was the stray cat, certainly someones cat, as a hawk strike leaves a telltale ring of feathers.
Your little tibbles is an ecological disaster zone and I can't see how cat owners can live with this.
Your sentimentality with these creatures ensures a coming silent spring.
I agree, it is awful seeing any animal suffer and I'm sorry you had to see that, but I don't think you can blame the 'cat owners' for something instinctive and natural. This world is cruel unfortunately. At least us responsible cat owners are having our pets neutered, if we didn't have them as pets there would be a huge problem with uneutered strays. Can I remind you this is a thread about my missing cat who I love very much so maybe take your comments somewhere else and be a little more sensitive.
Okay; And I hope you get your particular cat back.
