The Silent Cinema

We plugged the Deptford Project's Silent Cinema recently, imagining it would involve a few people watching telly with headphones on. But we went to have a look last weekend and realised we'd undersold it.

The cinema is actually a large screen strung up between large wooden poles, with packing crate seats under a pink parachute in the Deptford Project courtyard. The effect is stunning. There are still three movies left to see if you want to give it a go.

I had a peak around there a few days back and agree it looks great. You can also see the garden that Deptford Project showed at Hampton Court Flower Show there.

10 quid?! thats more than a lot of multiplex tickets. those crates dont look too inviting either. i'm all for local cinema initiatives but prices need to be realistic

It's an artisan, organic cinema. So it's OK.

@Bum you pay cinema prices?! I just sit in my pants and watch telly! Much cheaper!

Look, it's a fun, novel experience, which a lot of people think is worth paying £10 for. If you don't, that's fine, but there's nowt more boring than someone saying something's not worth it.
