Vote Brockley Jack

Saucy? Yes. Haughty? Never. The Brockley Jack's warmly welcoming nature has been thrust in to the limelight this week.

Darren Batten from the Brockley Jack Theatre has been in touch to ask BC readers for their support, following the theatre's nominations in the OffWestEnd Theatre Awards:

The Brockley Jack Studio Theatre has been nominated in the following categories. Voting is open until 14th Feb and the winners announced on 27th Feb.
  • The Most Welcoming Theatre in South-East London (current position 6th)
  • The Best Theatre Bar in South-East London (current position 6th)
  • The Best Foodie Experience in South-East London (current position 3rd)
We would love to win one or more of these awards! and would appreciate any Brockley Central readers taking a few minutes to vote for us.

Visit http://www.offwestend.com/ and subscribe to the newsletter (you can always unsubcribe later if you would prefer not to receive their emails), an email will be sent to you in due course with a link to voting.

Appropritely, the News Shopper reviews the Brockley Jack pub this week, giving it two thumbs up and calling it an "exquisitely welcoming pub."

And speaking of shows of support, please join the exquisitely welcoming Brockley Central Facebook group, which is already up to 165 lovely people.

Blimey Coney, you drive a hard bargain, I guess they thought some of us might have been already and be happy to endorse them.

But they have done reader offers before, if you click on the theatre tab and scroll down.

Nick, I wasn't aiming to be rude to Brockley Jack, cheeky maybe, but not rude or "rebllious". Glad you removed both posts in that other thread, and to that anon who attacked me. 1. Come out of the shadows 2. Have some constructive arguments. Otherwise jog on!

Pub Spy is an odd fellow, isn't he! The first half of that review makes it sound awful, then he starts to effuse later on and gives it almost top marks! Deserved, of course; it's a great place.

So good it needs posting twice http://www.ntv.ru/novosti/217653/. No idea what they are banging on about, translation please

The current show is the "British premiere of Howard Colyer's darkly comic, wonderfully haunting adaptation of the Russian literary masterpiece" so they presumably sent along their equivalent of Rupert Wingfield-Hayes to report on it. What a find, though!
