Charity quiz night at the Royal Albert
Robot Club Leader: Gentlemen, welcome to Robot Club. The first rule of Robot Club is, you do not talk about about Robot Club. The second rule of Robot Club is, YOU DO NOT TALK ABOUT RO… wait, I… got that wrong. [Unfolding a crumpled up piece of paper and pushing up his glasses] The second rule is, no smoking.
Tim: Why aren't we allowed to smoke?
Mike: We're not allowed to talk about it.

Brockley Central is taking part in a charity pub quiz at the Royal Albert at 7.30pm on April 25th, in aid of the Lavender Trust. Brockleys Jon, Kate and Nick are putting together at least one team, possibly two. We'd love to see some of you there, so that we can crush you.
The quiz is being organised by BC regular Lorna and will be followed by a DJ set and a performance by Mazaika.
There is an entrance fee of £10 per team - with up to five people on any team. If you can form a team under your own steam, just turn up - if you'd like us to put you together with some other BCers, email us.

I like a nice pub quiz to show off my nerdy knowledge of all things obscure, however usually the questions revolve aruond soap and film actors or who won com football trophy in the 1970s...
I noticed the other day that there's a quiz at a pub in Deptford called "The Prize is Shite", that made me smile!
Fear not Headhunter, I've been promised that most of the questions will be about geology this time. Should be a breeze ...
Quizmistress here & queen of all things random. Suffice to say I like to go against the grain and make the quiz a little interesting - although I can't guarantee there won't be a round on the Greatest Hits of Steps & S Club 7.
Anyone who bags Tyrwhitt Michael for their team wins. I start the bidding at two pints and a scotch egg.
I can't guarantee there won't be a round on the Greatest Hits of Steps & S Club 7.
Too easy. The answer is zero.
I don't care whether the questions are about S Club or geology (though my S Club knowledge is probably better), it's just nice to see a quiz these days that hasn't been downloaded from the internet! Looking forward to it.
Problem with quizzes these days is that everyone has i-phones and text messaging, so it's easy and tempting to cheat. Back in my student days in the early to mid 90s it was down to pure team knowledge. I've seen people blatantly cheating at the Wickham...
Mr Drakefell Debaser - how rude! :-) And S Club 7 would be highly topical for Brockley too. They filmed their Don't Stop Movin video at the Rivoli!! I'm still hoping for a SuperCheese Group to be formed out of all the members. Siiiiigh.
Headhunter - last two quizzes I helped with, I was the enforcer - "Miss Whiplash" & "SchoolMistress Jones". There was little cheating. The consequences were FAR too painful.......
What time is it expected to start.
Doh,I think it starts at 7.30.
Could you confirm which comes first - Mazaika or the DJ set?
Would like to catch up with Mazaika again but, out of deference to my ears, would probably want to duck out of the DJ bit.
Clearly my reputation goes before me but in defence of my fellow team members, I am not the fount of all knowledge.
Unfortunately I am out of town that weekend nursing my aged P following a cataract operation (wince) so MB can have the scotch egg to himself.
Best wishes for the evening however.
...Or even the "font" of all knowledge...
I thought it was fount, as in fountain/source/spring...
Font is just type-face or a stone baisin in a church.
Tamsin, I imagine the DJ will be last.
Sorry Lorna, I missed the Steps and S Club moment so don't have a clue about them. If I do enter, I will have to brush up on my pop trivia.
Err... Steps and S Club 7 have never had any 'Greatest Hits'.
The Lavender Truss Mob
Really? I always thought it was "font"...
....Looks like the debate has already been had:

Steps ans S Club 7's greatest hits could be put on a single.
