Is it shadow or have adjoining property owners carefully painted it slightly different colours? That lovely description in "Going Postal" of the room that the old postman and Stanley share, with the line painted along floor, walls and ceiling, and across the table they eat at with the salt in a small, circular "demilitarised zone" in the middle.
It is indeed painted in 2 different colours ...
Is it on St Margaret's Road? It's maddeningly familiar!
